Austin is pedaling!

On October 12, 2011 Austin Tyler Garrison figured out how to pedal his tricycle.  It was the cutest thing!  Up until that day he insisted on scooting along Fred Flinstone style, and he was getting really good at it.  I kept encouraging him to pedal, and he kept saying "NO" and insisted on doing the way he knew how to.  It made sense.  If his way was seemingly better, easier, and quicker, why try Mommy's way if it's more difficult and slower?  Well, after playing in the leaves for awhile, Andrew decided he wanted to ride his bike.  Austin decided he wanted to play with the chalk.  After a few moments, Austin walked up to the garage, grabbed one of his trikes, walked it down the driveway to the sidewalk, hopped on it, and immediately started pedaling.  It was a little awkward and slow-going, but he kept at it.  Before, he would go 2 rotations and revert to scooting.  This time he had a look of determination (and pure joy) on his face and he finally realized he could do it.  It was priceless.
